THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TICKEY BOX (C Habib) was stubborn to load. b) GOOD OMEN (R A Venniker) was slow into stride. c) FROSTBITE (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) BEST OF ALL (S Khumalo) failed to canter in front of the grandstand while proceeding to the start. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) will be advised that should this colt behave in a similar manner in the future, it may be suspended. c) Leaving the 400m CATRIEN (C F Dicken), which rolled out, was steadied in away from the heels of SAIL THE HORIZON (K de Melo) which commenced to hang in from the 500m. d) TICKEY BOX (C Habib) hung in from the 350m. e) FROSTBITE (S Moodley) raced green. f) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with CATRIEN in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) BEST OF ALL (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PLACE OF PRACTICE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 13.02.2026/08h03). b) CATRIEN raced fitted with a tongue tie and without ear muffs (advised 11.02.2026/12h20). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) CATRIEN : Nothing obvious detected. b) TICKEY BOX : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe.
