THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SWORD SPEED (K de Melo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) CONNOISSEUR (*G Samo-Burthia) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) At the 300m JAZZ FESTIVAL (C Zackey) was brushed in by MISSISSIPPI SPICE (*D D Louw) which rolled in, and thereafter, at the 200m, VENCEDOR (M Michel) was brushed out by MISSISSIPPI SPICE (*D D Louw) which shifted out away from the crop. d) In view of the performances of BRAVE VOYAGER (*M Mbuto) (11.25 lengths, 80/1 in the betting), MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (S Khumalo) (4.45 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) and CONNOISSEUR (*G Samo-Burthia) (11.65 lengths, 75/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) MISSISSIPPI SPICE (*D D Louw), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
