a) COWBOY COUNTRY (C Murray) was stubborn to load. Lost 1 length.
b) MY BOY LOLLIPOP (M Yeni) lost 1 length.
c) DAPPER (*M Mbuto) lost 2 lengths.
d) MOYA WA LALIGA (S Veale) stood, losing 6 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) :
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MOYA WA LALIGA (S Veale), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as it proves tractable on a race day with a companion. (Suspension dates: 16.02.2026 to the 17.03.2026). MOYA WA LALIGA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer W M Masawi will be advised.
c) As the start was effected HENRY HARVEY (S Khumalo), THE MASK (C F Dicken) and THE MARQUEE (S Moodley) came together and brushed on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed between WINTER IN LONDON (K de Melo) which jumped outward sharply and CAPTAIN'S PRIDE (C Zackey) which jumped in awkwardly and made contact with the right front gate. This resulted in this filly having its hind quarters turned outwards.
d) Shortly after the start GORGEOUS GUY (C Habib) and COWBOY COUNTRY (C Murray) came together and bumped.
e) In view of the performances of HENRY HARVEY (S Khumalo) (12.95 lengths, 20/1 in the betting) and CAPTAIN'S PRIDE (C Zackey) (14.75 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the performance of CARDINAL CHIEF (10.80 lengths, 9/2 in the betting), Trainer G B Puller will be asked to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables.
g) WHO BLINKED (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Ryan acting on behalf of Trainer M J Odendaal was advised (DZ).
