THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair break, THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m mark, the right-side stirrup iron on SALLY PORT broke, causing Jockey J R Syster to become dislodged. He was attended to by the course paramedics and was subsequently deemed fit to continue racing for the remainder of the racemeeting. b) In the concluding stages, BURN BRIGHT (J Penny), which rolled out, and KARVANI (S Khumalo), came together and bumped. c) Jockey J Penny (BURN BRIGHT) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey J Penny reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) KARVANI (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Swanson advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SALLY PORT was ridden by Jockey J R Syster (declared 20 February 2026 at 09H28). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SALLY PORT new ownership: Mr D J and Mrs M C Daniels, colours: Lilac, yellow lightning bolt, lilac sleeves, yellow collar and cuffs, lilac cap (Sold with engagement).
