THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS OF AJIAAL (Y Ramzan) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. b) RUNGSTEDLAND (G Wright) was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. c) DAFFODIL DELIGHT (R Fourie), BOLD TIGRESS (J Gates) and SABTEUR (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h51) b) All Riders were weighed out manually for Race 1 due to a technical error with the scale. This was reported to the Racing Operator. c) BOLD TIGRESS (J Gates) (Betting 125/1; Distance behind), which was slow into stride, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. When questioned, Jockey J Gates reported that, in his opinion, this filly did not have the early speed to race on terms with the field and he had to chase her in an attempt to keep in touch with the other runners. As a consequence, she had tired quickly from the 600m. Trainer E Kaknis was questioned with regard to the constant poor performance of BOLD TIGRESS. He explained to the Board that this filly is still inexperienced and needs time to mature and gain confidence in working alongside other horses. He is also of the opinion that she will be better on the polytrack and over more ground. He further intimated that he will gradually increase this filly's work at home. In view of the report dated 6 February 2026 (under Addendums), the Stewards, acting in terms of Rule 93.2.6, read with Rule 4.2.7, have suspended BOLD TIGRESS for a period of 60 days and until such time as she shows that she can race on terms with the other runners. (Dates: 21/02/2026 to 22/04/2026, both dates inclusive.) Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) DAFFODIL DELIGHT (R Fourie) raced green and took a number of awkward strides between the 300m and the 200m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) ROCK ME MAMA (A Fortune) was hanging out throughout. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that SABOTEUR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) MARCHLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
