THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHAPBOOK (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MIAMI MOUNTAIN (J R Syster) was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, ONE FINE WINTER (K de Melo) and UMZINGELI WENYATHI (M Yeni) were carried in by ZALATORIS (C Zackey), which was brushed in by CHAPBOOK (G Lerena), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) Shortly after the start, CHARMING CHEETAH (K Matsunyane) and POP CHART (C Maujean) were carried in by THE LAST DUKE (P Mxoli), which hung in. Thereafter, THE LAST DUKE (P Mxoli) commenced to hang in from 200m. d) At approximately the 200m, CHAPBOOK (G Lerena) was carried in by POP CHART (C Maujean), which hung in. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that ZALATORIS took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey R Munger reported that ELEGANTRIX made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with ONE FINE WINTER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) MIAMI MOUNTAIN (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P Dlhamini, acting on behalf of Trainers M/M de Kock, was advised (MduP). i) WILD JUSTICE (S Khumalo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
