THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue-tie on PANJANDRUM (R Fourie) was re-fitted at the start. b) GALACTIC BEAUTY (*J Botes) and TIME FOR DANCING (*N Nastili) were stubborn loading. c) SMANGALISO'S GAL (*I Taka) was stubborn loading and kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. d) IN PROCESS (JR Syster) was nervous in the stalls, was taken out and reloaded. e) STONE OF SCONE (C Zackey) threw its head down shortly before the start was effected and jumped slow, losing two lengths. f) TITTLEMOUSE (ZIM) (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing two lengths. g) MME HUNTRESS (*G Dookhit) and PEACEOFBEAUTY (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h51) b) Permission was granted for LAUDIUM (L Mxothwa) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the reasons listed under the Starter's Report. d) GALACTIC BEAUTY (*J Botes) was hanging out from the 400m, was corrected at the 250m and thereafter, took a number of awkward strides. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SUN ECLIPSE (MK Katjedi) was carried outwards by LADY LIMONCELLI (Y Ramzan), which shied away from PEACEOFBEAUTY (X Ndlovu), which shifted out sharply at approximately the 350m. f) MANURIKI (M Mjoka) was hanging in from the 250m. g) LAUDIUM (L Mxothwa) was hanging out from the 250m. h) FOCAL POINT shifted outwards at the 75m, took a number of awkward strides and unbalanced Jockey J Gates. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. i) Jockey JR Syster reported that IN PROCESS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. j) In view of the report from the Starter regarding IN PROCESS (JR Syster) and TIME FOR DANCING (*N Nastili), Trainer D McKenzie was advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. k) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GALACTIC BEAUTY (*J Botes) and SMANGALISO'S GAL (*I Taka), these fillies' starting stall certificates have been withdrawn and they are suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as they prove to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 28/02/2026 to 06/03/2026, both dates inclusive) GALACTIC BEAUTY and SMANGALISO'S GAL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. l) PANJANDRUM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
