THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DIVO MONDO (E Webber) was stubborn loading and slow into stride.
b) FARMER'S TAN (MK Katjedi), MISS TAKES (*N Nastili), TOMAHAWK BILL (Y Ramzan) and THE SCARLET CAT (*B Soodoo) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h26)
b) Permission was granted for WARRIOR'S SWORD (*W Fourie) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c) Apprentice W Fourie (WARRIOR'S SWORD) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
d) NORDIC SPY (S Naidoo) was bumped out by FARMER'S TAN (MK Katjedi) shortly after the start.
e) TOMAHAWK BILL (Y Ramzan) shifted outwards away from the crop from the 400m and was corrected at the 100m.
f) HONORINE'S GIMMIE (C Zackey) shifted sharply inwards away from the crop at the 250m and was corrected.
g) PILGRIM (*I Taka) shortened its stride rapidly from the 200m and thereafter, took a number of awkward strides. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Trainer WGC Miller was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
h) Jockey M Mjoka (PRICELESS PEARL) and Apprentice B Soodoo (THE SCARLET CAT) reported that their mounts did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
i) BOMBER STREAM (*J Botes) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis)
j) HONORINE'S GIMMIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM)
