En-route to the start, Jockey N Patel was dislodged from WANDER SKITT which returned to the parade ring. WANDER SKITT was taken in hand, re-united with Jockey Patel and despatched to the start. This led to the delay to the start of this Race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANIKONGO (AUS) (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) CATRIEN (C Dicken) was difficult to settle in the early stages. c) In the concluding stages, CATRIEN (C Dicken) which hung out from the 200m, was carried in by DEVIL'S PEAK (*D Ramkhalawon) which rolled in away from the heels of WANDER SKITT (N Patel). d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that IRISH ANTHEM changed strides continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice D Ramkhalawon (DEVIL'S PEAK) accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. f) WANDER SKITT (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
