THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OTTO LUYKEN (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h53) b) Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. c) After being slow to begin, OTTO LUYKEN (JP van der Merwe) was squeezed out between GEM KING (L Mxothwa) and GALLIC DREAM (M Yeni) when both horses shifted ground marginally shortly after the start. d) Shortly after the start JET FORCE (G van Niekerk) was taken in behind runners from its outside draw. e) SNOW PILOT (R Fourie) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and was hanging out in the straight. f) In view of the performance of SUGAR MOUNTAIN (A Domeyer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) JET FORCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
