THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE DISTILLED (C Zackey) and GREEN POINT (C Habib) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h19) b) Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. c) Jockeys G van Niekerk (MONEY EXTRACTOR) and R Piechulek (SMART HORSE) elected to race wide on the latter part of the turn and then directed their mounts towards the outside of the racecourse. d) All Riders returned to the scale slightly over the weight at which they had weighed out. The Stewards were satisfied that this was due to the prevailing weather conditions. e) Jockey C Habib reported that GREEN POINT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of PRINCE OF TIBET (A Domeyer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) MONEY EXTRACTOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
