THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPANISH FEUD (*D Pillay) lost 1 length. b) CRIMSON TYPHOON (M Michel) lost 2 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) SPANISH FEUD (*D Pillay) hung out from the 500m and shifted out in the concluding stages. c) Approaching the 300m MAGICAL SPRING (*D D Louw) briefly raced in restricted room between the heels of AMPHITRITE (S Hlengwa), which hung out throughout, and the heels of RED SECRET (C Zackey). d) Approaching the 100m SKYLINE BELL (S Veale) was brushed out by CAN WE START (C Murray) which rolled out. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that RED SECRET made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running.
