THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, the right-side stirrup leather on the saddle of LOOKING GOOD (+S Tutu) broke, which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) TANZANITE (+S Liyaba) and ELUSIVE BOMBA (+P Stoffel) were nervous in the stalls. c) LOOKING GOOD (+S Tutu) and GUTSY BABY (+I Tutu) were nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. d) FOCAL POINT (+MZ Naki) was nervous in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls. e) ALLEYAH'S ROCKET (+L Kolanisi) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. f) WALTZING DOLL (+M Ntunja) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. g) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE (+M Mgqobozi) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. h) GINGER ROOD (+A Gwadiso) and BOSSY LADY (+A Mbumbulu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for ALLEYAH'S ROCKET (+L Kolanisi) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. b) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE shifted out continuously from the 700m without any assistance from Work Rider M Mgqobozi and was only corrected at the 400m. c) ENDIZAYO (+M July) and LOOKING GOOD (+S Tutu) were hanging in from the 500m. d) TANZANITE (+S Liyaba) was hanging in from the 300m. e) Work Rider P Stoffell (ELUSIVE BOMBA) became unbalanced for no apparent reason for a number of strides and thereafter, shifted outwards shortly before the finish line. f) Shortly after the finish line, the right-side stirrup leather on the saddle of LOOKING GOOD (+S Tutu) broke. The Stewards inspected the saddle on LOOKING GOOD (+S Tutu) and established that the right-side stirrup leather had not been correctly fitted when replaced at the start. Work Rider S Tutu's saddle was confiscated by the Stewards for further investigation. g) Work Rider MZ Naki reported that FOCAL POINT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) Work Rider's G Shuping (MME HUNTRESS) and L Kolanisi (ALLEYAH'S ROCKET) appeared before the Board and were severely reprimanded to ride their mounts out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. i) TANZANITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Coughing & scalp wound left hind. b) MME HUNTRESS - brush wound right hind. c) WALTZING DOLL - mouth injury. d) ENDIZAYO - coughing. e) LOOKING GOOD - mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
