THE STARTER REPORTED: a) As the start was effected GOLDEN CROC reared in the stalls, dislodging Jockey C F Dicken. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after PRETTY KARA passed following a second test. b) A race review was called into the start of this start of this race. After viewing the Patrol footage to the start, it was established that GOLDEN CROC reared over and dislodged Jockey C F Dicken as the gates were released. The Board deemed this incident to be of the horse's own behaviour and that it had not been impeded by the handler allocated to it and deemed GOLDEN CROC (C F Dicken) to be a runner. Jockey C F Dicken was transported back to the Jockeys' Quarters. GOLDEN CROC proved elusive in being taken in hand and this precluded Jockey Dicken from weighing back in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. c) Jockey S Khumalo (PROM QUEEN) appeared before the Board and was advised that although the use of his crop fell within the parameters of the current transition period, the revised use of the crop Rules and penalty framework will take effect on the 1st of April 2026. d) BOOM BOOM (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WEST SIDE STORY raced fitted with alumites (advised 06.03.2026/15h08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) WEST SIDE STORY : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
