THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHOCOLATE BOMB (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls, rushed the front gates and jumped slow, losing one length. b) MASKED VIGILANTE (K Minnie) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. c) GALILEO STAR (L Mxothwa) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h08) b) Permission was granted for CHOCOLATE BOMB (S Naidoo) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Shortly after the start, ONE TOO MANY (*B Soodoo) was bumped out by CHOCOLATE BOMB (S Naidoo), which jumped outwards. d) Shortly after the start, AADEHYA (Y Ramzan), was bumped inwards by GALILEO STAR (L Mxothwa), which jumped inwards. In this incident, the hindquarters of AADEHYA (Y Ramzan) were turned. e) MASKED VIGILANTE (K Minnie) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. f) WAROFDYNAMITE (M Yeni) shifted out away from the crop, was directed outwards and made slight contact with RAVILIOUS (C Maujean) shortly before the finish. Jockey M Yeni (WAROFDYNAMITE) appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. g) In view of the performance of CHOCOLATE BOMB (S Naidoo) (Betting 18/10; Distance 6.35 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. h) RAVILIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM) i) WAROFDYNAMITE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
