THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, COWBOY COUNTRY (J Jacobs) was steadied when awkwardly placed between MAPHAKA (S Veale) and the heels of DAPPER (*M Mbuto) which rolled out away from WHO BLINKED (N Patel). c) Jockey C Zackey reported that TAM'S KNIGHT raced with its tongue over the bit. In view of the performance of this gelding (6.40 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of CHICARITO (C Murray) (21.10 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) which took an awkward stride at the 200m and was not persevered with thereafter, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) MAPHAKA (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
