THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) THE JUDGE (S Khathi) was fractious in stalls and jumped awkwardly.
b) MASTER MTOTO (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly.
c) U S RANGER (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length.
d) FIRST OFFICER (C Habib), FYFIELD LEGEND (M Yeni), GLOBAL THRILLER (Y Ramzan) and GREY EAGLE (GB) (C Maujean) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h43)
b) Shortly after the start, GLOBAL THRILLER (Y Ramzan) was bumped outwards by MASTER MTOTO (C Zackey) , which was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly.
c) FIRST OFFICER (C Habib) and U S RANGER (R Fourie) were hanging in from the 300m.
d) THE JUDGE (S Khathi) was hanging in from the 300m, proved difficult to assist and was corrected at approximately the 100m.
e) In view of the performance of SECRET ERUPTION (L Mxothwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
f) Jockey M Yeni (FYFIELD LEGEND) appeared before the Board and was advised to ride his mounts to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards so as to leave no room for query.
g) MASTER MTOTO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM)
h) U S Ranger, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana, acting on behalf of Trainer AC Greeff, was advised. (LM)
