THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VYFSTER (L Nhlapo) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey L Nhlapo reported that he felt something amiss with VYFSTER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning VYFSTER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer E Verdonese was advised. d) MY DEAR FRIEND (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Dawson was advised (MS). Trainer T Dawson was questioned regarding the improved performance of MY DEAR FRIEND. Trainer T Dawson explained to the Board that, in her opinion, the drop in distance and the fitting of the blinkers had accounted for this filly's improvement. Trainer T Dawson has undertaken to race this filly over similar distances and similarly equipped, where possible. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MY DEAR FRIEND was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 13 March 2026 at 15H44). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MY DEAR FRIEND raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 March 2026 at 08H03). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) VYFSTER bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension. Trainer E Verdonese was advised (MB). b) FLORAL FURY raced with its tongue over the bit. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
