THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUTHERLAND (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) WARNING LIGHT (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, SUTHERLAND (P Mxoli) and FOSTINOVO (K de Melo) came together and brushed. c) At approximately the 800m, WARNING LIGHT came under a hard ride by Jockey R Munger in order to stay in touch with the field. Thereafter, in response to Jockey R Munger's urgings, this gelding was able to finish his race off strongly. Thereafter, Jockey R Munger reported that this gelding was green in running. d) ENSUING (C Murray) hung in from the 200m. e) SUTHERLAND (P Mxoli) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. f) Apprentice J Botes reported that CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Jockey M Yeni reported that CLARKSON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) Jockey R Munger (WARNING LIGHT) appeared before the Board and was advised that although the use of his crop fell within the parameters of the current transition period, the revised use of the crop Rules and penalty framework will take effect on the 1st of April 2026. i) PAUL REVERE (*B Marx-Jacobson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
