THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (M Yeni) was unruly and reluctant to load. b) FAIRY KNIGHT (R Fourie) and MERCANTOUR (R Munger) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h38) b) Permission was granted for ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At approximately the 700m, BLACK EGRET (C Little) had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (M Yeni) which shifted inwards. d) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (M Yeni) and ROMAN AGENT (W Agrella) raced in close proximity from the 500m and made slight contact at approximately the 300m. Thereafter, ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (M Yeni) commenced to hang in slightly and shifted inwards from the 150m, carried ROMAN AGENT (W Agrella) inwards for a number of strides and made contact shortly before the finish. The Stipendiary Stewards called for a race review, which was followed by Jockey W Agrella (ROMAN AGENT) calling for a race review with regards to the above incident. After viewing the patrol film and taking into account the distance of 0.25 of a length between the two horses concerned, no further action was taken. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was strongly advised to react sooner and take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. e) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
