THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF TIBET (JP van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. b) FIRINGONALLENGINES (C Little) jumped inwards. c) SHIFTING PATH (C Bantam) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h14) b) After jumping awkwardly, FIRINGONALLENGINES (C Little) shifted inwards, made contact with OZARK (L Mxothwa) and then took an awkward stride. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that PRINCE OF TIBET made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey G Behr was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of JET A ONE he misused his crop by striking JET A ONE more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey G Behr signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. e) WINTER PEARL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MH Maingard was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) PRINCE OF TIBET raced with blinkers. (declared 12h08 on 20260319) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF TIBET - examined post-race. Choked up. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
