DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF AN ELECTRICAL STORM IN THE VICINITY OF TURFFONTEIN RACECOURSE, THE RUNNERS FOR RACE 9 WERE KEPT IN THE BACK PARADE RING AND DISPATCHED STRAIGHT TO THE START. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) This race was run in rain.
c) Apprentice J Botes, the rider of THE AFRICA HOUSE, accidentally dropped his crop at the 400m.
d) BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (C Murray) tired in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) In view of the performance of THE AFRICA HOUSE (*J Botes), (distance 12,00 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) Jockey R Munger reported that WILLIAM ROBERTSON made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with CHASING HAPPINESS in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
h) ZIYASHA (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MduP).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) ZIYASHA was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 21 March 2026 at 12H52).
b) RODEO DRIVE: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared.
c) CHASING HAPPINESS: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 54,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
