The tongue tie on SAIL TO THE MOON (*D Pillay) was refitted by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL MOVEMENT (C Zackey) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) QUINN'S TIME (*S Bungane) brushed the inside running rail at the 500m. Thereafter this gelding took an awkward stride shortly after entering the straight. c) DEFINITELY YES (R A Vennker) hung in from the 300m. d) GLOBAL MOVEMENT (C Zackey) hung in from the 150m. e) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with IRON WILL in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of MEERKAT MOON, he misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey Veale signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2000. g) MEERKAT MOON (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Dixon was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K de Melo was the rider of BLUE STEEL (advised 22.03.2026/08h29). b) Jockey C Zackey was the rider of GLOBAL MOVEMENT (advised 22.03.2026/07h36). c) MEERKAT MOON raced equipped with blinkers (advised 19.03.2026/08h52).
