THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMAZE ME (J Gates) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, THE REASON (C Zackey) and BABY RED (J R Syster) were bumped out by AMAZE ME (J Gates), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence of this, BABY RED (J R Syster) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of SAVARA'S PRINCESS (P Mxoli), which shifted in. c) BABY RED (J R Syster) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. d) THE REASON (C Zackey) hung in from the 200m. e) Jockey J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with AMAZE ME in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning AMAZE ME (J Gates), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer S J Gray was advised. g) ONCEINABLUEMOON (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
