THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 200m, PEARL IN HER CROWN (M Yeni) was carried in by SURPRISE PARTY (R A Venniker), which hung in from the 300m. c) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of SPECIAL STAR, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (13), which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R2,700 was imposed. Race 8 contd. d) Jockey J Gates reported that NORTHERN KITTEN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey M K Katjedi reported that PARTY PUNCH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) AZALEAS FOR ALL (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SIKELOI was ridden by Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson (declared 26 March 2026 at 08H55). b) ROSY LEMON was ridden by Jockey R Munger (declared 26 March 2026 at 08H56). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KISS OF FIRE raced with a cornell collar (declared 7 December 2023). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) NORTHERN KITTEN abnormal respiratory noise; fatigued. b) PARTY PUNCH examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. c) SPECIAL STAR choked up.
