THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BUGLE (K Strydom) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h03) b) Apprentice W Fourie (DEAD POETS SOCIETY) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. c) TURBULENT (*I Taka) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. d) In the concluding stages MONKEY'S WEDDING (MK Katjedi) was carried in marginally by MAKAJIMA (X Ndlovu), which was hanging in from the 250m. e) At the finish, MONKEY'S WEDDING (MK Katjedi) and AETHELWULF (S Khathi) came together and brushed. f) Apprentice J Botes reported that NORSE WARRIOR took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. g) The saddle on LUCKY CHANCE slipped forward in running, which resulted in Apprentice G Dookhit being unable to fully assist his mount and placed him at a disadvantage. This was confirmed on the patrol film. h) Trainer WGC Miller was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented MISS TAKES incorrectly shod in the parade ring. Trainer WGC Miller signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2500.00 i) DIVO MONDO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
