THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEVIL'S PEAK (*D Ramkhalawon) became restless as the start was effected, jumped awkwardly and lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) ETZEBETH (M Yeni) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) SKIPPER O'MALLEY (K Matsunyane) commenced to over race in the early and middle part of the turn. d) At the 1400m PEEPING TOM (R A Venniker) was directed out and allowed to improve around the field to take up a forward position at the 1100m. e) At the 350m ETZEBETH (M Yeni) was directed to the outside of PEEPING TOM (R A Venniker) to obtain a clear run. Immediately thereafter, ETZEBETH (M Yeni) was brushed in by NO PRESSURE (C Zackey) which commenced to hang in and rolled in. Thereafter, at the 300m ETZEBETH (M Yeni) was brushed by NO PRESSURE (C Zackey) which continued to hang in. f) Jockey C Zackey (NO PRESSURE) reported that his saddle slipped sideways in the running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. g) In view of the performance of SKIPPER O'MALLEY (K Matsunyane) (8.30 lengths, 13/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) NO PRESSURE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
