THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAKURA HANAMI (C Zackey) was stubborn to load. b) CALL OF THE KAROO (*S Bungane), YOUR LADYSHIP (R A Venniker) and UBUKHWEBEZANA (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 200m Jockey C Zackey (SAKURA HANAMI) momentarily hesitated with his riding in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the inside of the heels of KALI BWANA (*B Marx-Jacobson), which rolled in. c) At the 150m GOLDEN MOMENT (N Patel), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and CALL OF THE KAROO (*S Bungane) which hung in from the 250m and rolled in. d) In view of the performance of CALL OF THE KAROO (*S Bungane) (5.70 lengths, 28/10 in the running), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer J Buckler, acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen, will be asked to report back on the condition of CALL OF THE KAROO on return to stables. e) UBUKHWEBEZANA (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
