THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Turning into the home straight WINTER WAVES (*D Pillay) was directed outwards and raced in isolation, parallel to the outside running-rail. WINTER WAVES (*D Pillay) commenced to hang in from the 300m. c) ZOOMBOMBER (*G Samo-Burthia) took an awkward stride leaving the 400m. The Veteirnary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) LOVE MY STYLE (*M Mbuto) hung in from the 300m. e) VICTOR RAIL (*I Taka), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Y Singh was advised (DZ). Trainer Y Singh was questioned regarding the improved performance of VICTOR RAIL (*I Taka). He explained to the Board that this was the gelding's second run for the yard, and that in its first run VICTOR RAIL had suffered an EIPH and had subsequently been rested. Trainer Singh added that he had elected to drop this gelding back to the shorter distance of today's race and that this, as well as the long break had attributed to the improvement shown in today's race. Trainer Singh's explanation was noted. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia (ZOOMBOMBER) weighed out at 50.9kg and only claimed 2kg of his 2.5kg Apprentice allowance. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ZOOMBOMBER : Nothing obvious detected. b) WINTER WAVES : Fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
