THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ROMAN ROMANCE (C Little) was fractious and reared in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. Thereafter, ROMAN ROMANCE (C Little) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing three lengths. During this delay, MARGATE (A Domeyer) was taken out and reloaded.
b) CHINWAG (C Murray) was reluctant to load and was restless in the stalls.
c) PINK BLOSSOM (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h14)
b) In view of the performance of ROMAN ROMANCE (C Little) which, after being slow to begin, raced detached from the field throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CHINWAG (C Murray), Trainer M Rix will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ROMAN ROMANCE (C Little), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load and jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 31/03/2026 to 06/04/2026, both dates inclusive) ROMAN ROMANCE may not be presented for re- passing during this period.
e) MARGATE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised. (CM)
