CIDER and POLLYMANIA were nervous in the stalls. BELFAST CHILD was slow away and lost 3 lengths. ARABIAN QUEST was stubborn loading. RUSALKA was slow away and lost 1 length. ALL THE STARS and BELFAST CHILD raced green. ARABIAN QUEST hung out throughout and shifted out in the closing stages. Trainer G D Smith was questioned with regard to the improved performance of ARABIAN QUEST as compared to this filly's previous performances. He explained to the Board that ARABIAN QUEST was difficult to settle and assist in her previous races over longer distances. In addition, he changed the bit on this filly for today's race. Mr Smith has undertaken to race ARABIAN QUEST over sprint distances down the straight in the immediate future. His explanation was noted and the future performances of ARABIAN QUEST will be monitored. ARABIAN QUEST and CIDER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
