THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE LATE ARRIVAL OF THE AMBULANCE AT THE START, AFTER TRANSPORTING JOCKEY G LERENA TO THE MEDICAL CENTRE AFTER HE FELL IN RACE 7. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTER CHRISTMAS (K Strydom) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (GT). b) CARE FORGOT (R Munger) and MO MENT (J R Syster) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey M K Katjedi reported that APACHE SON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey J Penny (DOUGLAS DRAGON) appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MASTER CHRISTMAS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 1 April 2026 to 7 April 2026. MASTER CHRISTMAS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised. e) BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) THE AFRICA HOUSE raced equipped with blinkers and a tongue tie on (declared 30 March 2026 at 06H15). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) APACHE SON blowing post-race. Race 8 contd. SCRATCHED: a) CEUTA abnormal blood count (veterinary certificate received) (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
