THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ICONIC WINTER (*G Dookhit) and CAPE CAPRI (MK Katjedi) were stubborn loading. b) STAR OF ELENA (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls. c) STRING OF LIGHTS (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. d) ATLANTIC PEARL (W Agrella) was nervous in the stalls, stood awkwardly, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. e) STU'S GIRL (*B Soodoo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ATLANTIC PEARL (W Agrella) was hanging in from the 400m and was corrected at the 100m. b) MORFELIHA (M Yeni) shifted out away from the crop from the 100m. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with TANZANITE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) The saddle on MY AMI BEACH (*EJ Muller) slipped forward in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ICONIC WINTER (*G Dookhit) and CAPE CAPRI (MK Katjedi), Trainers DG Smith and DA McKenzie respectively were advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) MORFELIHA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (LM) g) JAPANESE GARDEN, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) STAR OF ELENA raced without cheek pieces. (declared 08h13 on 20260401) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TANZANITE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) DAFFODIL DELIGHT - mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
