THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEEMSTEDE (C Little) was nervous in the stalls. b) ALADO'S PRIDE (*EJ Muller) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 400m. b) Apprentice EJ Muller (ALADO'S PRIDE) accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. c) Jockey C Little did not persevere with his riding of HEEMSTEDE from the 300m and thereafter, reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of RICHARDTHEFEARLESS (C Zackey), which was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. e) HELIOTROPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass, was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *EJ Muller rode ALADO'S PRIDE.
