THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAXON DYNASTY (K de Melo) stubborn to load and restless in the stalls. Was released from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded. b) CHILL IN THE AIR (R A Venniker) stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) VIHAAN'S BOMB (M Michel) over raced in the early stages. c) In a slow run race, CHILL IN THE AIR (R A Venniker) proved difficult to settle and threw its head up on a number of occasions in the early and middle stages. d) PLUM PUDDING (S Moodley) and ROYAL INVITATION (J Gates) came together and brushed on two occasions between the 300m and 150m. e) Jockey J Gates (ROYAL INVITATION) appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination to the end of the Race as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. f) In view of the performance of VIHAAN'S BOMB (M Michel) (12.30 lengths and 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) ROYAL INVITATION (J Gates), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
