THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRIPPI'S SILK (S Moodley) fly jumped leaving the starting stalls losing 2 lengths. b) MY BOY LOLLIPOP (*S E Sesingi) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) Apprentice S E Sesingi (MY BOY LOLLIPOP) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. b) Shortly after the start TRIPPI'S SILK (S Moodley) was eased outwards away from the heels of MY BOY LOLLIPOP (*S E Sesingi). c) Shortly after the start HOPE IS POWER (S Veale) was squeezed out between DANUBE (*M Mbuto), and SHE'S ALL MINE (J R Syster) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. d) The tongue tie fitted to HAPPY WANDERER (*D Pillay) became partially detached in the running. e) GORGEOUS GUY (C Habib) hung in from the 500m. f) In view of the performances of HAPPY WANDERER (*D Pillay) (8.00 lengths and 40/1 in the betting) and HOPE IS POWER (S Veale) (11.60 and 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) CITY OF LOVE (M Michel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
