THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VERDANDI (P Mxoli) stumbled shortly after the start, dislodging the Rider. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, VERDANDI (P Mxoli) stumbled badly and dislodged Jockey P Mxoli. The course paramedics attended to Jockey P Mxoli, and thereafter, he was passed fit to continue riding by the Course Medical Officer. c) FORRIES FAVOURITE (*T Mayhew) over-raced in the early and middle stages. As a consequence, the saddle on FORRIES FAVOURITE slipped forward in running at approximately the 1200m, placing Apprentice T Mayhew at a disadvantage. d) Jockey D Schwarz, the rider of PROPHECIES, accidentally dropped his crop at the 500m. e) HIGHWAY HEIRESS (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) HIGHWAY HEIRESS raced equipped with steel shoes in front and unshod behind (declared 8 April 2026 at 08H52). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FORRIES FAVOURITE fatigued. b) VERDANDI cut into left hind; mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
