THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVAN MISTRESS (R Fourie) was reluctant to load and was loaded riderless. b) WILD FIG (K Minnie) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h17) b) Permission was granted for SUPREME JUDGE (C Zackey) and ROCK OF FUTURE (C Little) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) ACTION AMERICA (C Habib) took an awkward stride at the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer JP Nel was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) Jockey C Little did not persevere with his riding of ROCK OF FUTURA from the 400m and thereafter reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Maujean reported that ABOVE THE HORIZON made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SILVAN MISTRESS (R Fourie), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load, mounted, with a companion. (Suspension dates: 11/04/2026 to 17/04/2026, both dates inclusive). SILVAN MISTRESS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) SILVAN MISTRESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
