The tongue tie on INVISIBLE had to be refitted at the start, causing a delay. KING OF GEMS and INVISIBLE jumped slow, losing one length. Jockey Marcus was charged with a contravention in that he accepted to ride both CANE LIME AND SODA and GOLDEN DUCAT. Jockey Marcus signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Fayd'Herbe was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck PARTERRE more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Fayd'Herbe signed an admission of guilt and was fined. In deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Fayd'Herbe's poor recent record with regards to contraventions of this Rule as well as the number of blows over the permissible level. Jockey Marcus was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck CANE LIME AND SODA more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Marcus signed an admission of guilt and was fined. In view of the performance of SILVER HOST, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. GOLDEN DUCAT and SACHDEV were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ON MY MIND raced without a tongue tie. Vet: SILVER HOST - nothing obvious detected INVISIBLE - abnormal respiratory noise. Scalped right hind and left hind. Scratched: VIVA RIO - sold without engagement.
