During the loading process AMELIA'S LEGACY (A Mgudlwa) reared over and got caught up underneath the starting stalls. AMELIA'S LEGACY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. The horse ambulance was dispatched to the start to collect AMELIA'S LEGACY and thereafter returned to the saddling enclosure. Jockey A Mgudlwa was examined by the course Medics and had sustained no injuries. These incidents led to a lengthy delay to the start of this Race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUERARI ROSE (T Godden) lost 1 length. b) JAZZ CAFE (S Moodley) lost 2 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) JAZZ CAFE (S Moodley) hung in from the 350m. c) At the 150m MISS LADYATERIX (C Habib) was brushed by THAT'S MY BABY (R Fourie) which shifted in away from the crop. Thereafter THAT'S MY BABY (R Fourie) commenced to hang in. d) PERILLA (C Little) hung in from the 150m. e) In view of the performance of QUERARI ROSE (T Godden) (8.55 lengths, 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) TULIP FIELDS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) THAT'S MY BABY raced without ear muffs (advised 09.04.2026/08h53). b) Jockey C Little (PERILLA) weighed out at 57.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) QUERARI ROSE : Nothing obvious detected.
