The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREAT PLAINS (C Murray) and BJORN IRONSIDE (C Habib) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) As the start was effected PORRIDGE BOY (M Michel) was bumped out by GREAT PLAINS (C Murray) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. c) At the 1200m PORRIDGE BOY (M Michel) was tightened for galloping room between RANDOLPH HEARST (K de Melo) and TALK TO THE MASTER (C Zackey) which rolled out. This resulted in PORRIDGE BOY (M Michel) losing position. d) JUST BE LEKKER (S Moodley) and BJORN IRONSIDE (C Habib) hung in from the 350m. e) RANDOLPH HEARST (K de Melo) hung in from the 300m, thereafter Jockey K de Melo reported that RANDOLPH HEARST made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) ROLAND GARROS (J P v'd Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J S Snaith was advised (MM). g) TALK TO THE MASTER (C Zackey), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Zaki was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) RANDOLPH HEARST raced without a tongue tie (advised 08.04.2026/14h21). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) RANDOLPH HEARST : Nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHINGS : a) PRETTY PERSUASIVE : Injured in transit (withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 15h04).
