THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h02) b) Leaving the 100m, Apprentice V Jodhee (PACIFIC WATERS) got his crop entangled in his reins. As a consequence, he elected not to use his crop for the remainer of the race. c) In the concluding stages, KISSES (O Noach) was bumped inwards and then had to be checked when racing tight between the inside running rail and LIEFLING (*B Plaatjies), which was held up and directed inwards away from the heels of THELEIA (K de Melo). Apprentice B Plaatjies, in the presence of the Academy Riding Master, appeared before the Board and was advised that while there were mitigating circumstances in this incident, he needs to exercise more care in similar circumstances. d) In view of the performance of KIM CHANEL (C Orffer), which took an awkward stride at the 150m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) PACIFIC WATERS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer G Terzi, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (ZM) f) THELEIA, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Dixon, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) KISSES raced with ear muffs.
