THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRITTI UNITED (*B Plaatjies) and HILTON HEADS (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h36) b) For a short distance leaving the 800m, PRITTI UNITED (*B Plaatjies) raced awkwardly with its head to one side when close to the heels of THE BIG BANG (A Domeyer). Thereafter, at the 500m PRITTI UNITED (*B Plaatjies) brushed the inside running rail and had to be steadied and directed outwards to avoid the heels of a tiring MISTER ED (*EJ Muller). As a consequence, PRITTI UNITED (*B Plaatjies) lost ground to the field between the 800m and the 400m. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that HILTON HEADS choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the debut performance of MISTER ED (*EJ Muller), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SKY ROCKET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
