THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRANQUIL JUDI (M Thackeray) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the loading process, the starting stall gates for stalls 2 and 4 opened unexpectedly for no apparent reason, resulting in FIREFLY LANE (K Derere) and TRANQUIL JUDI (M Thackeray) exiting prematurely. Both horses were promptly restrained by their riders, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race, and subsequently reloaded. b) TRANQUIL JUDI (M Thackeray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
