STORMY SEAS proved reluctant to canter to the start and was led by a handler. Thereafter BOWIE refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. These incidents caused a significant delay to the start of this Race. The Starting Stall Certificate for BOWIE has been withdrawn. CHAMPINGATTHEBIT, QUINETRA and SERGEANT YORK were slow into stride. STORMY SEAS proved reluctant to canter to the start and was led by a Handler. Trainer Magner was advised that should this colt behave in a similar manner in future, he may be suspended. In view of the Starter's report with regard to BOWIE, this colt was suspended 10 for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. BOWIE may not be presented for repassing during this period. In view of the performances of SERGEANT YORK and SOUTH EAST , the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Trainer Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of SOUTH EAST on return to stables. WINTER STORIES hung in from the 400m. FIRE AND ICE shifted out in the concluding stages. Leaving the 200m, SUPREME ELEVATION had to switch in off the heels of STORMY SEAS which had come to the end of its run. FIRE AND ICE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SERGEANT YORK and SOUTH EAST - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BOWIE - refused to load.
