THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS THE LATE SCRATCHING OF SOLARTRIP (J PENNY). THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOLARTRIP (J Penny) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer B H Stidolph was advised (RLM). b) JACK IN THE GREEN (C Ngcobo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1200m, COPPOLA (N Takawira) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of RAINING AGAIN (M Josi), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey M Josi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of RAINING AGAIN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to COPPOLA (N Takawira) when he shifted in at approximately the 1200m. Jockey M Josi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races at one (1) Borrowdale Park Racemeeting. Suspension date: 21 May 2026. b) Jockey N Takawira (COPPOLA) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey N Takawira reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SOLARTRIP, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 18 April 2026 to 24 April 2026. SOLARTRIP may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B H Stidolph was advised. d) KING'S CROWN (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Swanson advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) RAINING AGAIN was ridden by Jockey M Josi (declared 16 April 2026 at 17H09).
