THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On his arrival at the start, SIXTYZERO (M Yeni) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. b) LEIF ERIKSON (C Habib) was unruly behind the stalls. c) MONKEY'S WEDDING (MK Katjedi) was nervous in the stalls. d) PEEKABOO (W Agrella) jumped awkwardly inwards, losing one length. e) GLOBAL CHIEF (*B Soodoo) jumped slow, losing two lengths. f) GHOST TOWN ROAD (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. g) GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h34) b) Permission was granted for MONKEY'S WEDDING (MK Katjedi) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) SIXTYZERO bolted leaving the parade ring and was restrained by Jockey M Yeni after galloping the majority of the way. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni dismounted and led this gelding the remainder of the distance to the start. Stable Employee KW Paddock, acting on behalf of Trainer K Mitchley, was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. d) LEIF ERIKSON (C Habib), MONT TREMBLANT (S Khathi) AMANZIMTEXAS (E Webber) over raced in the early and middle stages. e) Jockey M Yeni's (SIXTYZERO) crop was briefly entangled in his reins at the 700m. f) In view of the performance of SIXTYZERO (M Yeni), which was hanging out between the 400m and the 150m and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to report any circumstances which might affect the performance of his mount. g) LEIF ERIKSON (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m. h) In view of the performances of AMANZIMTEXAS (E Webber) and GHOST TOWN ROAD (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. i) MONT TREMBLANT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
