THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WORLDLY (*B Soodoo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LYRICAL GANGSTER (*V Jodhee) was hanging out from the 400m. b) When questioned regarding the performance of WINTER PIRATE (Betting 33/10; Distance 14.65 lengths), Apprentice T Mayhew told the Stewards that although this two-year old colt had proved difficult to restrain during the canter past, he had no concerns with regard to his mount's well-being on arriving at the start. WINTER PIRATE had shown good pace in the early stages of the race and had tired quickly from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) In view of the performance of LYRICAL GANGSTER (*V Jodhee), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) PALACE GIFT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
