THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SCARLET O'HARA (J R Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) AZALEAS FOR ALL (C Maujean) was slow, losing six lengths. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Apprentice J Botes, the rider of MOUNT ETNA, briefly dropped his left-side rein at the 400m. c) At approximately the 300m, KISSING MACHINE (M Yeni) was steadied when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and FUTURE DATE (P Mxoli), which shifted in away from the crop. d) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with FREE IN SEATTLE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey M Yeni reported that KISSING MACHINE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to AZALEAS FOR ALL (C Maujean), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 20 April 2026 to 26 April 2026. AZALEAS FOR ALL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. g) MOUNT ETNA (*J Botes), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) POPLAR PARK was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 18 April 2026 at 09H30). b)` FREE IN SEATTLE was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 19 April 2026 at 14H16). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FREE IN SEATTLE cut into left hind. b) KISSING MACHINE blowing post-race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
