THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UMAMI jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) THE REASON hung in from the 200m. c) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck THE REASON more than two times on consecutive strides. Jockey C Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) Jockey S Moodley reported that BEAUTIFUL ONE did not stride out freely in running.
